FAQ

What previous training experience do you have?

  • FAQWe have been training dogs for the past few years. Starting with our own pack, helping friends and family, and volunteering with rescues. With the amount of positive feedback received we strived to further our education studying under other balanced dog trainers. Since 2015, we have been serving people and their dogs all while continuing our growth and knowledge by attending workshops, seminars and conferences yearly.

What makes you different from other dog trainers?

  • I believe my past experience working with children with developmental disabilities, has taught me a great deal of patience in all situations whether they be stressful, difficult and fun. I am able match the right amount of energy that is needed with each individual dog, whether they are more timid at first, or outgoing, even those who like to be in your face. The real success I have found with dogs is looking at every dog with a clean slate, and gearing their training around what that dog and family needs. There is no cookie cutter approach.

What types of training tools do you use?

Working with hundreds of dogs and owners we have grown to learn that there is no “cookie cutter” approach for every dog and situation. We utilize Slip Leads, Martingales, Prong Collars, E-Collars & Head Halti’s. We determine the need of the owner and the dog and teach them to use it with the right amount of what we call pressure release.

Can you summarize you training philosophy?

  • Dog’s are social pack animals. They are always seeking their role and place within a human/dog pack. When a dog does not understand it’s place in the pack it can lead to a number of behavior problems. This is where it is important for owners to learn to be pack leaders as it is their responsibility to make sure everyone falls in line harmoniously and peaceably. Foundationally a dog needs Exercise, Discipline and THEN Affection. Many struggling owners tend to give Affection, Affection and more Affection with the only discipline being out of frustration. We seek to right this wrong and empower the owner by clearly teaching the foundations of all three to get a calmer & more balanced version of their dog.

Is there a secret to training success?

  • Before we became dog trainers we were once clients ourselves. Like any other activity it is critical that you practice and master the things being taught during and after the sessions. Ultimately we want you to be more confident and knowledgeable in handling the various situations in which you struggled with to begin with. With that said the secret is being willing to create and maintain the positive the change through your habits and the techniques we will equip you with. Your dog needs the consistency and repetition to imprint his or her brain with new skills and behavior patterns.
